A decade ago, detecting deepfakes was relatively straightforward due to the limitations of the technology. However, recent advancements in AI, machine learning, and deep learning have made deepfakes nearly undetectable. Although this technology is often used for entertainment, it is increasingly being used for malicious purposes. The widespread availability of AI tools has further facilitated the creation of convincing deepfakes by fraudsters. Given that people tend to trust what they see and hear, they are particularly susceptible to the influence of realistic deepfakes.
